This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, change a sentence, schedule a visit, or pull certified booking, jail, court, or prison records. Use the official office or locator that holds the record.

Find the Right Office

New Mexico custody information depends on the system that holds the person. A recent arrest or local jail stay normally starts with the county jail or sheriff's office. A sentenced state prisoner, probationer, or parolee is searched through the New Mexico Corrections Department. Federal sentenced custody uses the Bureau of Prisons locator, while immigration detention uses ICE. Court filings after an arrest are searched through New Mexico courts.

New Mexico Corrections

NMCD lists its central office at 4337 NM 14, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87508, with mailing address P.O. Box 27116, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87502-0116. The agency publishes a main phone number of (505) 827-8645, an Inmate Records phone number of (505) 690-9790, and a Probation and Parole Office phone number of (866) 416-9867.

NMCD public-records requests are routed through its NextRequest portal and the Office of General Counsel records custodian. NMCD's offender-search page states that Adult Prisons Division information is updated nightly and probation/parole information is updated in real time, but county and city detention facilities are outside NMCD jurisdiction.

Public Records Requests

New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978, Sections 14-2-1 to 14-2-12, gives the public a right to inspect public records of public bodies, subject to legal exceptions. For county jail records, send the request to the county or sheriff's office that made the booking record. For NMCD prison records, use the NMCD records route. For court records, use the New Mexico Courts public-records and Case Lookup resources.
